Towbar: Lock with 5-digit code
If the towbar is manufactured after 2008, you will find a 5-digit code on the lock cylinder, e.g. “33322”. A similar code for example “2W22” is located on the key.
The last two digits of the code form the ending of the part number. In this case it would be “942 001 513 244”.
So if the code on the lock is 5 digits, ignore the first 3 digits, only use the last 2 digits and choose a number that starts with 2W and then the last 2 digits.
Example:
If the code 33322 is on the lock you must choose code 2W22 .
Even if your code does not start with 333 but with other 3 digits, only use the last 2 and enter them after the 2W code from the drop-down menu.

What is a key code and where can I find it?
A key code is the number or letter-number combination used to cut a replacement key without needing the original key. You can usually find it on the lock face, on the original key, on a key tag, in the product manual, or on the lock/barrel itself. The exact location depends on the brand and lock type.
Can you cut a replacement key if I only provide the code?
Yes, if the code belongs to a supported key series, MR-KEY can cut a replacement key directly from that code. Enter the code exactly as shown on your lock or original key. If the code format is unusual or unclear, we may contact you for a photo before cutting.
Will the key cut by code work straight away?
For mechanical locks, yes — a key cut by the correct code should work straight away. This applies to many towbar keys, roof rack keys, caravan keys, locker keys, mailbox keys, furniture keys and older vehicle keys.
What happens if I enter the wrong key code?
If the wrong code is entered, the key will not work. Always check the code carefully before ordering and avoid guessing. If you are unsure, send us a clear photo of the lock, key, or code marking before placing the order so we can help verify it.
